Replacement Instructions
Note: Follow these instructions carefully. Failure to do so could damage your equipment and
First Steps

1 Shut down computer.
2 Wait 10 minutes.
Warning: Parts inside
computer can be very

to cool down before

3 Unplug all external
cables except power

Required Tools • Phillips #2 screwdriver • RIght-angle, 2.5 mm hex driver • Flatblade screwdriver • Long-handled Phillips #1 screwdriver Removing the Installed Cage and Clips Before removing the processor cage, you must remove: • Hard drive in far-left drive bay • Graphics card in slot 1 • Processor tray • PCIe fan You must also transfer both cage fans from the original cage to the replacement cage. 18 Disconnect 3 cables from logic board. 19 Using long-handled Phillips #1 screwdriver, loosen 6 captive screws. 20 Rotate computer to stand vertically.
