Using Fn Hot Keys The combination of the Fn key plus another key creates a hot key—a shortcut key sequence—for various system controls. Resetting the Notebook Occasionally, Windows or the notebook may stop responding, so that you cannot turn the notebook off. If this happens, try the following in the order listed: • If possible, shut down Windows: press CTRL+ALT+DEL, then click Shut Down. Using the CD-ROM or DVD Player The multimedia buttons on the front of the notebook control the CD-ROM/DVD player, and work in much the same way as do the controls of a standalone CD-ROM or DVD player.
