Even with S/A on, and without a DGPS receiver, your AccuMap 12 gives you out- standing position and navigation information. Please sit down with the unit and this manual and familiarize yourself with them before using this unit in the “real world”. A simulator is built in, which lets you practice with the receiver. ANTENNA Your AccuMap 12 has a removable antenna that folds over the display when the unit is not in use. This prevents damage to the display. To open the antenna, simply

Once the AccuMap 12 locks on to the satellites and finds your position, it stores the satellite data in its memory. The next time you use the unit, it should take much less time to lock on.
