Installing Memory (DIMMs) Your new motherboard has four 240-pin slots for DDR memory. These slots support 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB DDR2 technologies for x8 and x16 devices. Securing the Motherboard into the Chassis Most computer chassis have a base with mounting studs or spacers to allow the mother board to be secured to the chassis and help to prevent short circuits.
