3. HARDWARE SETUP 2) CPU External Frequency Selection (DIP_SW Switches 1–4) This option tells the clock generator what frequency to send to the CPU, DRAM, and the PCI bus. This allows the selection of the CPU’s External frequency (or BUS Clock). The BUS Clock multiplied by the Frequency Multiple equals the CPU’s Internal frequency (the advertised CPU speed). 3. H/W SETUP Motherboard Settings 3. HARDWARE SETUP 4) CPU Type Frequency Setting (PALO_FREQ) This jumper setting accomodates the difference between the internal frequency between standard and new AMD CPUs. If changing from one type of CPU to another, the jumper caps must be adjusted. The factory default setting, [2-3], is for standard Athlon/Duron CPUs. The Palomino processor will only function on this motherboard after the jumpers are adjusted to [1-2]. PALO_FREQ 1 2 3 1 2 3 FID0 FID0 FID1
