3.0 Applicable standards and reference documentation The drives documented in this manual have been developed as system peripherals to the highest standards of design and construction. The drives depends on host equipment to provide adequate power and environment for optimum performance and compliance with applicable industry and governmental regulations. 5.4 Prefetch/multi-segmented cache control The drive provides a prefetch (read look-ahead) and multi-segmented cache control algorithms that in many cases can enhance system performance. Cache refers to the drive buffer storage space when it is used in cache operations.
