OPERATION BUCKING WITH A WEDGE See Figure 19. If the wood diameter is large enough for you to WEDGE insert a soft bucking wedge without touching the chain, you should use the wedge to hold the cut open to prevent pinching. OPERATION Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid binding the chain saw. Keep the tree between you and the chain saw while limbing.
