WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM CAUTION Make sure the bar and chain are free from any obstruction when starting the chain saw. CHECKING CHAIN TENSION • Chain tension should be checked frequently during work and corrected as necessary. CAUTION Do not operate with a loose chain. CHAIN LUBRICATION TEST Hold the chain just above a dry surface and open the throttle to half speed for 30 seconds. A thin line of “thrown” oil should be seen on the dry surface. The accepted way to hold the saw is to stand to the left of the saw with your left hand on the front handlebar and your right hand on the rear handle so you can operate the throttle trigger with your right index finger.
