Place chute assembly onto chute base (forward-facing) and secure chute control assembly to chute support bracket with clevis pin and cotter pin removed earlier. See Figure 5. 6. ASSEMBLY The extension cord is fastened with a cable tie to the rear of the auger housing for shipping purposes. Cut the cable tie and remove it before operating the snow thrower. Shear Pin Storage Two replacement auger shear pins are included with your snow thrower. They may be packed with this manual, or stowed in the snow thrower’s dash panel. See Figure 8. SERVICE & ADJUSTMENTS Replacing Belts Check the condition of both auger belt and drive belt every 25 hours of snow thrower operation. Replace if either shows signs of wear and tear. To remove and replace either the auger belt or the drive belt, follow the steps below and then proceed to the specific steps listed under respective sub-headings. 1. SERVICE & ADJUSTMENTS Drive Control When the drive control is released and in the disengaged “up” position, the cable should have very little slack. It should NOT be tight. Check the adjustment of the drive control as follows: 1. With the drive control released, push the snow thrower gently forward. The unit should roll freely. 2.
