Getting Started Getting Started Before using the Falcon for the first time, you must install the battery pack into the Falcon, then charge both the battery pack and the backup battery. See Installing the Battery Pack on page 10 for instructions. You must charge the battery pack and backup battery in a dock or with a power cable prior to your first use of the Falcon. Charging the Batteries Charging with the Dock There are two models of docks for the Falcon: a Single-Slot dock and a Four- Slot dock. On both models, an external power supply (AC adaptor) provides power to the dock. There are two methods for charging a battery pack using a Single-Slot dock. Charging the Batteries Backup Battery The 3V Lithium Backup Battery receives its charge from the Battery Pack. To retain date, time, data, and other settings for the Falcon, maintain at least a minimal charge on the Battery Pack.
