With this connection: • You may view any channel. • You must select channels at the Cable Box/DBS. Channels cannot be changed at the VCR. • You may not view a channel other than the one you are recording. • You may not set up channels at the VCR. • Timer recordings are programmed differently. Set the TV and the VCR to the Cable Box/DBS output channel (channel 03 or 04)

10 Installing/Removing the Lithium Battery You may install a lithium battery in the VCR. This will allow the VCR to save the clock setting and the programmed timer recordings if a power outage occurs. The battery can back up your timer recordings and clock setting for around six months (4,000 hours). Setting the Clock 15 There are four ways to set the VCR’s clock: Manually, with Time Zone Selection, with Manual PBS Channel Selection, or with Automatic PBS Channel Selection.
