However, each Caller ID system (and each device, such as a telephone or answering machine) that you connect to the telephone line draws power from the line. After you install batteries, the system beeps and dis- plays FA640 REV 1.8 (information about the sys- tem’s software), then SET LANGUAGE for a few sec- onds, then ENGLISH (the default display language) appears for about 45 sec- onds.
