Basic Features Two Line Display There are two lines in the display screen as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 Display Screen The top line of the screen displays operation status, operator symbols, annunciators, and abbreviations of the registers, variables, and menu names. The I key is also used in Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) mode to enter a number on the stack or duplicate it. Mathematical Calculations Chain Mode Calculations in Chain mode are interpreted in the order in which they are entered. For example, entering the following numbers and operations as written from left to right 1+2*3= returns 9. See Figure 2. Mathematical Calculations When an operation is performed on the stack, addition (+) for instance, the calculator "pops" or moves the two numbers from the bottom levels (Levels 1 and 2) out of the stack, performs the operation, and "pushes" the results back into the stack. With the numbers entered into the stack as shown in Figure 3, pressing + changes the stack as shown in Figure 4.
