NAV101 INSTALLATION The NAV101 can be used with a Jensen navigation-ready DVD unit (VM9412, VM9512, Antenna Placement VM9022). Since the NAV101 uses GPS technology for navigation, proper antenna placement is crucial for optimal performance of the GPS receiver. When using GPS antennas, the antenna plane Warnings should be parallel to the geographic horizon. NAV101 Connections 1. Insert one end of the Smartbus cable into the “DATA BUS” slot on the side of the NAV101 and secure it with a 11mm (.4in) screw (provided). Connect the other end of the cable to the NAV101 input on the back of your Jensen navigation-ready head unit (VM9412, VM9512, VM9022). NAV101 GETTING STARTED The initial GPS location lock is best established when your vehicle is parked. If the device is in motion, the signal can take longer to initially connect.
