Sub-field A number of sub-fields overlap to depict the image in each frame. Panasonic technology detects movement in the image and reflects it in each individual sub- field to achieve smooth playback with minimal blurring. What's Sub-field? Plasma TVs express a single frame of an image by using multiple images, each having a different gradation. These separate images are called sub-fields. Slide #15
