INDICATORS THE LARGE 3-CHARACTER DIGITAL DISPLAY in the upper left hand corner of the panel indicates many conditions. It indicates when AC power is applied to the charger, actual charge rate in amperes, when the battery is fully charged, detected faults, operating modes and when the charger is ready for the next mode selection. CHARGE RATE SELECTION VEC093 After the clamps are connected, plug in the charger to an AC outlet and the charger will show a circulating pattern on the Digital Display. This slowly (over 24 hours) removes the insulating buildup from the plates so the battery can hold a full charge. Most automotive batteries (50 to 70AH) can be treated once to reduce the lead sulfate buildup. Smaller 12 volt batteries, such as found in jump starters can be treated for 12 hours.
