ABOUT SD MEMORY CARDS AND MULTI MEDIA CARDS The response time during recording and playback is longer with MultiMediaCards compared with SD Memory Cards. This is not a defect, but rather due to the specifications of the cards. When using large capacity cards, some operations like deletion may take longer. BATTERY-CONDITION INDICATOR This camera is equipped with an automatic battery-condition indicator. When the camera is on, the battery-condition indicator appears on the data panel. If the data panel is blank, the batteries may be dead or installed incorrectly. Full-battery Icon – the battery is fully charged. BATTERY CARD BATTERY CARD GETTING UP AND RUNNING INSTALLING AND REMOVING A MEMORY CARD An SD (Secure Digital) Memory card or MultiMediaCard must be inserted for the camera to operate. If a card has not been inserted, three zeros (000) will blink on the data-panel frame counter. For more about memory cards, see page 7. SETTING UP THE CAMERA When the camera is initially turned on, the 1 LCD monitor will activate and prompt you to set the menu language and the date and time. Turn the camera on by setting the mode dial to the setup position. The Controller controller is used to make settings on the LCD monitor. GETTING UP AND RUNNING BASIC RECORDING OPERATION With the mode dial set to auto recording, the camera will turn on and the lens will automatically extend. GETTING UP AND RUNNING VIEWING PICTURES Still images can easily be viewed in playback mode. To view images, turn the 1 mode dial to the playback position (1).
