If you connect an external microphone, the system's controls (such as VOLUME) affect it in the same way as the built-in micro- phone. 1. RESTORING TAPE TENSION AND SOUND QUALITY After you play a cassette tape several times, the tape might be- come tightly wound on the reels. This can cause playback sound quality to deteriorate.
