ASSEMBLY FRONT HANDLE See Figure 2. 1. Remove the front handle, bolt and wing nut from FRONT HANDLE the Owner’s Kit. 2. Install the front handle onto the top side of the drive shaft housing and move it to a comfortable position. WING NUT 3. Place the bolt through the front handle as shown. Then install the wing nut. 4. Tighten wing nut securely. NOTE: Do not attempt to remove or modify the spacer. This spacer limits the upper position of the handle grip. See Figure 2. 1 OPERATION STARTING AND STOPPING IGNITION SWITCH See Figures 12 and 13. I = ON TO RUN O = OFF TO STOP WARNING: Never start or run the engine inside a closed or poorly ventilated area; breathing exhaust fumes can kill. TO START A COLD ENGINE: THROTTLE INTERLOCK 1. Lay trimmer on a flat, bare surface. Move switch to “I” (RUN) position. NOTE: Unit is equipped with a positive on-off switch. MAINTENANCE STRING REPLACEMENT See Figures 16, 17, 18 and 19. SPOOL SPRING 1 Stop the engine and disconnect the sparking plug wire. Hold the string head and unscrew the spool ARROWS ON retainer. Turn anticlockwise. SPOOL 2 Remove the spool from the string head. NOTE: Keep the spring attached to the spool. Remove any old string remaining on the spool.
