STEP 1: ASSEMBLE THE SCANNER 5 STEP 1: ASSEMBLE THE SCANNER To assemble the scanner: 1. Remove all shipping tape from the top and bottom of the scanner. 2. Carefully remove the protective foam from the ADF cover release, then press the release button to open the Automatic Document Feeder cover. ADF Cover Release 3. STEP 2: INSTALL THE SOFTWARE 7 STEP 2: INSTALL THE SOFTWARE Note: You must install the software before connecting the scanner to your computer. Otherwise, the correct driver software for your scanner will not be installed and it may not work properly. To install the software: 1. Start Microsoft Windows and make sure no other applications are running. 2. Insert the Installation CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. The Installation menu automatically opens.
