Chapter 1: Connections & Setup Things to Consider Before You Connect Protect against Power Surges • Connect all components before you plug any of their power cords into the wall outlet or power strip. Connections & Setup Get the Picture The first part of connecting your TV is to get the picture, also known as a signal. The back panel of your TV allows you to receive cable channels by using the CABLE INPUT; receive local off-air digital and analog channels by using the ANTENNA INPUT; and a digital cable by using the CableCARD slot (with CABLE INPUT). Connections & Setup Using the CableCarD Slot The CableCARD slot (with CABLE INPUT) allows you to use a digital cable card to receive digital cable services, including premium and HDTV cable channels, without the need for a set-top box. Please contact your local cable company to obtain a digital cable card.
