Battery installation & charging After battery installation, place the handset in the charger and allow it to charge for 16 hours before use. Registration Before using a new E597-1 handset, you must register it with the E5917/ E5926/E5927B/E5937B/E5938B/E5939B/E5947B base. The handset provided with your E5926/E5917 is automatically registered as Handset 1.
