The QNAP TS-451+ supports a maximum memory capacity of 8GB. It has two memory slots, each capable of accommodating a DDR3L 1600 MHz SO-DIMM module. It's important to note that the QNAP TS-451+ memory capacity is limited to these specifications, and it cannot be extended beyond 8GB.

Resetting a QNAP NAS (Network Attached Storage) device will not necessarily delete everything on it. The exact outcome of a reset depends on the method you choose to use:
1. Soft Reset: This option will reset the system settings, network settings, and the administrator password to their default values. Your data will remain intact.
2. Hard Reset: Choosing this option will reset the system settings, network settings, and the administrator password to their default values. It will also erase all user data on the NAS. This means that all files, configurations, and applications installed on the device will be deleted.
So, if you only perform a soft reset, your data will be safe. However, a hard reset will erase everything on the QNAP NAS.

The default admin password for QNAP NAS is "admin".

- Follow the on-screen instructions to set the NAS name, select the time zone, and choose whether to enable or disable services like DLNA, FTP, etc.
- It is recommended to enable RAID if you have multiple hard drives installed to protect your data.
6. Create storage volumes:
- Use the Storage & Snapshots app (formerly Storage Manager) in the QTS web interface to create volumes on your hard drives. You can select RAID levels, filesystems, and encryption options based on your requirements.
7. Set up users and access privileges:
- Use the Control Panel app in the QTS web interface to create user accounts and set access privileges for shared folders. This will allow you to control who has access to the NAS and its contents.
8. Configure network settings:
- Use the Network & Virtual Switch app in the QTS web interface to configure network settings like IP address, DNS, and network protocols.
9. Set up remote access (optional):
- If you want to access your NAS remotely over the internet, you can set up a DDNS (Dynamic DNS) service and configure port forwarding on your router. The steps to do this will depend on your router model, so refer to the router's user manual or manufacturer's website for instructions.
10. Install and configure additional apps (optional):
- QNAP NAS supports a wide range of apps for different purposes like media streaming, file syncing, surveillance, etc. You can install and configure the apps you need from the QTS App Center in the web interface.
