To rebuild a QNAP NAS from scratch, follow the steps below:
1. Disconnect the QNAP NAS from the power source and remove all the hard drives.
2. Connect the NAS to a computer directly using an Ethernet cable.
3. Power on the NAS and wait for a few minutes until the NAS gets an IP address from the computer.
4. Open a web browser on your computer and enter the NAS's IP address in the address bar.
5. You will be directed to the QNAP setup wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your NAS.
6. Once the setup is complete, power off the NAS.
7. Reinstall the hard drives into the NAS, making sure they are properly connected.
8. Power on the NAS again and wait for it to initialize the hard drives.
9. Access the NAS management interface using the IP address you assigned during the setup.
10. Verify that the NAS recognizes all the installed hard drives.
11. If necessary, configure the RAID level and other storage settings based on your requirements.
12. Restore your data to the NAS from a backup or copy it from the computer.
Note: Rebuilding a QNAP NAS from scratch will erase all data and settings on the NAS, so it is crucial to have a backup of your important data before proceeding.

The default admin password for a QNAP TS-231P NAS (Network Attached Storage) device is "admin". However, it is highly recommended to change the default password for security purposes.

The QNAP TS-231P supports up to two 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or two 2.5-inch SATA hard drives/SSDs. The maximum capacity would depend on the capacity of the individual hard drives you install. It can support up to 16TB (2 x 8TB) of storage using 3.5-inch drives.
