1. Connect the power cord.
Unpack the power cord from the box, plug one end into the back of the printer and the other end into a power socket.
2. Install the ink cartridges.
Open the ink cartridge access door at the front of the printer and wait for the carriage to move to the center. Remove the protective tape from the new ink cartridges and insert them into the matching slots. Close the door when done.
3. Load paper into the input tray.
Pull out the input tray from the bottom of the printer, load a stack of paper with the print side facing down, and adjust the paper width guide.
4. Power on the printer.
Press the Power button on the front of the printer. The printer will initialize.
5. Install printer software.
On the computer, visit the HP website, enter the printer model then follow the onscreen instructions to download the suitable driver compatible with your operating system. Run the setup file and follow the installation steps to install the software.
6. Connect the printer.
You can connect the printer to the computer or network. For a wired connection, connect the printer to the computer using a USB cable.
