If you have lost the CD that comes with your Canon Pixma printer, you still can install the printer by downloading the correct drivers from the Canon website.
Here's how you do it:
1. Power on your Canon Pixma printer and connect it to your computer via USB.
2. Go to the Canon Support website (www.canon.com/support).
3. You'll see a search bar asking you to "Enter a model". Type your Canon Pixma printer model. Then, either press Enter or click the likely-looking model number that appears below the search bar.
4. It will take you to the product page of your printer model. Look for 'Drivers & Downloads' section usually on the right-hand side.
5. Under ‘Drivers & Downloads’, choose the operating system you are using on your computer (like Windows 10, Mac OS, etc).
6. In the list of files that appears, find the proper driver file for your operating system. It might be labeled something like "Driver" or "Printer Driver". Click on the 'Select' button beside it and then click 'Download'.
7. Wait for the file to download and then locate it in your downloads folder. Double click on the file to open it.
8. Follow the steps in the installation wizard. Agree to any terms and conditions, choose the 'Install' option, and keep clicking 'Next' until the installation is complete.
9. Restart your computer. Once your computer has restarted, your printer should be ready to use!
Note: You’ll need to be connected to the internet to download the driver.
In case your computer doesn't recognize the printer, you’ll have to go to the 'Control Panel' located in the 'Settings' of your computer, then click on 'Printers' or 'Devices and Printers', click 'Add a Printer' and follow the instructions to install it.
