Safety Precautions Daily Maintenance When you are working around the scanner, follow these precautions to avoid fire and electrical shock. ■ Never install and operate the scanner near flammable substances, such as alcohol, paint thinner, benzene, or any other type of volatile solution. Chapter 1 Introduction to the CR-180II Features of the CR-180II The Canon Check Reader CR-180II is a scanner with magnetic heads that can read checks and other documents that are printed with MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) compatible fonts and is capable of OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
