Loading a disc 1. Press the Eject button. The tray slides out of the drive. 2. Place a disc in the tray with the label facing up. 3. Close the tray by gently pushing the tray in until it latches. Attention: Do not use force or insert foreign objects to open the tray. If your tray does not open when you press the Eject button, see “Manually ejecting a disc”on page11 for more information. Removing the disc from the cartridge 2a 3a DVD-RAM media is available in bare-disc or cartridge form. To use cartridge media in your Multi-Burner, you must first remove the disc from the cartridge. Using the tip of a ball point pen, push and break the lock pin tab 1.To remove the disc, use a ball point pen to push down on the cartridge lid lock 2 and pull the cartridge lid out 3. Precautions for handling Be careful when handling the removed disc. Debris, dust particles, fingerprints, smears, or scratches may impair recording and playback of the media. To clean dust or other debris, use a CD Cleaning Kit. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the disc. Do not use solvents to clean the disc surface. When labeling a disc, write only on the printed label side or the cartridge using a soft felt-tip marker. Keep out of direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. Do not attach l

Using the DVD function To use the DVD function, you need to set up your computer as follows after installing the Multi-Burner drive into the Ultrabay 2000 drive bay: 1. Enable the DMA setting (Windows XP and Windows 2000 users only). 2. Install WinDVD (the DVD movie player program)
