Since 3/11 Turn-Nado Gearhead Lathes INTRODUCTION Safety Foot Brake Spindle Levers This lathe is equipped with a foot brake (see Figure 9) to quickly stop the spindle instead of allowing it to coast to a stop on its own. Pressing the foot brake disengages the spindle clutch from the motor drive train inside the headstock. After the foot brake is used, the spindle lever is used to re-start spindle rotation.
