Chapter 1 1Introduction and Installation This chapter provides a description of the Quantum Travan Portable USB Tape Drive and installation procedures. Introduction 1 The Quantum Travan Portable USB tape drive is available in 20GB and 40GB models, with capacities of up to 20 and 40 Gbytes, respectively (based on 2:1 data compression). Chapter 1 Introduction and Installation Installing the Drive 3 Set up the drive As shown in figure 1, the Travan Portable USB Tape Drive can operate in a horizontal position (with the label facing down) or in a vertical position (supported by the drive stand, with the label facing to the left).
