We recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-557. Follow these steps to install batteries. 1. Pull up the black cassette compart- ment latch and pull Illust. open the cassette compartment door. 2. Press the battery compartment cover’s tab in the Illust. direction of the arrow and lift off the cover. 5

Cautions: • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. • Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities. 4. Replace the battery compartment cover, then close the cassette compartment door and latch.

Batteries can leak chemicals that can corrode or damage electronic circuits. • If you do not plan to power the SCP-90 with bat- teries for several days, or if you plan to power it using only an AC or DC adapter, remove the bat- teries to protect the SCP-90 from possible bat- tery leakage.
