DASH DISASSEMBLY 99-9305 BMW X3 2004-2010 (NON-NAV MODELS) A 1 Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 2 Unclip and remove the hazard/door lock switch. (Figure A) Unclip and remove the a/c vents 3 above the radio. ( Figure B) 4 Remove (2) Phillips screws on top of the radio/climate control panel fac- B ing down. (Figure C) 5 Unclip and remove the radio/climate control panel. (Figure D) 6 Remove (2) Phillips screws securing the radio. (Figure D) D C 1

99-9305 KIT ASSEMBLY ISO DIN HEAD UNIT PROVISION A 1 Secure the corresponding bracket to the aftermarket radio using the hardware supplied with the radio. (Figure A) NOTE: If the ISO screws supplied with the aftermarket radio are too big, use the supplied (4) Phillips ISO screws. 2 Using a drill screw the radio/bracket B assembly into the dash using the supplied (4) Phillips screws. (Figure B) 3 Position the radio housing over the radio face and secure using the fac- tory hardware. (Figure C) C

99-9305 FINAL ASSEMBLY FINAL ASSEMBLY Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. 1 Metra recomends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 2 3 Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS Make wiring
