CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Welcome to Cabletron Systems 7F06-02 FDDI SmartSwitch Interface Module User Guide. This guide is a simple reference for installing and using the 7F06-02 Module. Chapter 1: Introduction 1.2.1 Cable Type and FPIMs The 7F06-02 module has two front panel connectors that interface to the 7X00 SmartSwitch Module through the chassis backplane. The front panel connections are standard Cabletron FPIMs. There are two FPIMs for each channel.
