INITIAL CONFIGURATION INITIAL CONFIGURATION To make use of the management features of your SMC Smart Switch you must first give it an IP address. For simplicity, this should be done before you permanently install the switch in the network. The following procedure is recommended: 1. Using a web browser you can configure the switch and view statistics to monitor network activity. The web agent can be accessed by any computer on the network using a standard web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or above, or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or above).
