The twisted-pair cable extended from a twisted-pair port is called a “twisted-pair segment,” and it can be up to 100 meters long. Note: To connect port 5 to a computer or other non-hub device, make sure that you set the switch on the bottom of the hub to the “Normal” position. 3

Connecting Hubs Together Connecting (cascading) hubs together allows you to increase the number of ports available to the network. All stations attached to the cascaded hubs communicate with each other on the same network. 1. Use port 5 to connect the hubs together.
