CHAPTER 3: INSTALLATION To connect an SAM to each server: 1. Locate the SAM for your ServSelect II unit. 2. Attach the appropriately color-coded cable ends to the keyboard, monitor and mouse ports on the fi rst server you will be connecting to the unit. 3. Attach one end of the CAT 5 cabling that will run between your SAM and ServSelect II unit to the RJ45 connector on the SAM. 4. SERVSELECT II™ INSTALLER/USER GUIDE Soft switching Soft switching is the ability to switch servers using a hotkey sequence. You can soft switch to a server by pressing Print Screen and then typing the first few characters of its name or number. If you have set a Screen Delay Time and you press the key sequences before that time has elapsed, the OSD will not display. To confi gure servers for soft switching: 1. Press Print Screen to launch the OSD. The Main dialog box appears. 2. Click Setup
