Thank you for purchasing a Canon product. The Canon Speedlite 580EX II is an EOS-dedicated, high-output flash unit automatically compatible with E-TTL II, E-TTL, and TTL autoflash. Installing the Batteries Install four size-AA batteries. Open the cover. • Use your thumb to press the battery compartment lock lever, then slide it as shown by the arrow CD to open the cover.
