OPERATION THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR RIDGID NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERY PACKS AND CHARGERS. Battery packs for this tool are shipped in a low charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should charge the pack until the light on the front of the charger changes from flashing green to continuous green. NOTE: Batteries will not reach full charge the first time they are charged. Allow several cycles (operation followed by recharging) for them to become fully charged. This

18 . 0v OPERATION WARNING: SWITCH TRIGGER Battery tools are always in operating condition. TRIGGER LOCK BUTTON Therefore, the switch should always be locked when not in use or carrying at your side. OPERATION SPLINTER-FREE CUTTING See Figure 9. The anti-splintering insert is especially useful when cutting plywood. It should only be used when making straight cuts or circle cuts. It is not for bevel cutting or plunge cutting. ANTI-SPLINTERING NOTE: The non-orbital setting also helps reduce splintering INSERT when cutting plywood. OPERATION To remove blades: Remove the battery pack. Remove the chip shield and the anti-splintering insert if needed.
