Chapter 1 Introduction The Tektronix Phaser 300X Color Printer uses Tektronix’ solid ink-jet technology. Solid ink-jet refers to the melting of the solid inks inside the printer, which then resolidify on paper. The ink resolidifies so rapidly that it does not have time to bleed into the paper, so the printed colors remain brilliant and well-defined. 1 Introduction Print quality and speed. The Phaser 300X has 300 dots-per-inch resolution and a print speed of 1 to 4 minutes per Letter-sized page, depending on the print quality mode. Print quality modes include Standard, Enhanced, and Premium. Media support. The printer produces laser-quality prints on paper ranging from 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 in.) to 305 x 457 mm (12 x 18 in.). The printer has 10 Mbytes of standard memory, expandable in 4-Mbyte increments to 22 Mbytes.

Getting Set Up 2 Installing the output tray 1. Push the output tray into the lower slot until it clicks into place. 2. Fit the rear tab into the slot inside the printer. The tabs on the sides of the tray fit into the slots on the sides of the printer.
