Motorola 2247-N8 DSL Wi-Fi Gateway User Guide Connecting the Gateway Location Guidelines 1. Decide on a location for the 2247-N8. Put the 2247-N8 near an AC wall outlet (the power source) and a phone jack activated for DSL, in a cool location where none of the 2247-N8’s vents will be blocked. Motorola 2247-N8 DSL Wi-Fi Gateway User Guide Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Setup The 2247-N8 Wi-Fi Gateway has a default network "name," or SSID (ser- vice set identifier) that uses a unique 8-digit number in the format “xxxx xxxx”. The 2247-N8 broadcasts this unique network name so that wire- less computers and other devices can detect it.
