These units, in combination with an antenna, provide satellite connectivity for multiple local area network (LAN) hosts through one DIRECWAY System. All the necessary software resides on the Gateway, which serves as the router. Chapter 2 Installing the indoor equipment Together, the receive modem, the transmit modem, and the System pre-installation Gateway are called the DW4020 and sometimes referred to as the indoor unit (IDU).
