NOTES • At operating temperatures below –20°C (–4°F), alkaline bat- teries are not recommended, as operating life will be severely reduced. 2.1 SYSTEM d ESCRIPTION The ATN PS-15 is a hand-held, head-mounted or helmet- mounted night vision system that enables walking, short-range surveillance, map reading, vehicle maintenance, and adminis- tering first aid in both moonlight and starlight. Each unit allows for vertical adjustment (by using head straps), fore-and-aft adjustment, objective lens focus, and eyepiece focus. The device is also equipped with an infrared light-emitting source.
