Ensure that your work surface is flat and clean to prevent the computer cover from being scratched. 2. Turn off your computer (see Turning Off Your Computer). 3. Pry the keyboard using a flat-head screw driver to remove the keyboard retainers that secure keyboard to the computer. 4. Flip the keyboard over and lay it on the palm rest. 5.
