Chapter 1 Product Description General Information The UIP300G is a business IP telephone in an enterprise LAN environment and will be connected to a softswitch. This chapter describes the features of the UIP300G IP Phone and protocols that are used. Standard Features of the Telephone The UIP300G comes equipped with the following standard features. • 2-line, 24-character alphanumeric LCD display • 10 LED indicators (Line 1, Line 2, Message Waiting Indication, Mute, Speaker/Headset, and five Function keys) • 12-key dial pad • 20 specific keys (five Function keys, Menu, Select, Cancel/Del, Transfer, Mute, Redial, Hold, Conference, Speaker, Line 1 and 2 keys, Volume Up/Down keys, and Up/Down Arrow keys) • Date and time configured locally or fro

Control and Functions of the Telephone To make phone operations easier and to avoid user confusion, many required functions are already programmed into the fixed function keys. There are 15 fixed function keys in the UIP300G. • Speaker/Headset – Turn speakerphone or headset on/off • Mute – Enable/disable the Mute function • Hold – Hold the called party • Transfer – Transfer one party to another • Conference – Establish a 3-way conference conversation • Redial – Redial last called number / Enter

Chapter 2 Installation and Basic Setup Instructions General Information This chapter provides instructions for installing the foot stand on the UIP300G, connecting the UIP300G to the LAN and sample setup instructions for setting up the telephone. Connecting the Telephone Before using the UIP300G, it is necessary to connect the handset to the telephone and to connect the telephone to the LAN network. 1. Quick Setup Procedure This example provides steps for configuring an IP telephone via terminal based configuration (User interface) and the web browser based configuration.
