5330/5340 IP Phone SIP User and Administrator Guide Getting Started ® In SIP mode, the Mitel 5320, 5330 and 5340 IP Phones manage their own call states and features. SIP uses the Internet to connect your phone to other SIP phones. You can make calls on the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), or “regular”, phone network. Prolonged use of the handset can lead to neck, shoulder, or back discomfort, especially if you cradle the handset between your ear and shoulder. If you use your phone a lot, you may find it more comfortable to use a headset. See the section on headset usage elsewhere in this guide for more information. The Phone window provides access to programmable keys and the main phone interface. The 5320 IP Phone default phone window (not shown) is very similar to the 5330, except the page navigation keys are non-functional for the 5320.
