Connecting components with HDMI jacks Sony recommends that you connect components to the system using HDMI cables. With HDMI, you can easily enjoy both high quality sound and high quality images. Connecting components without HDMI jacks When you connect a DVD player (recorder), satellite/cable television tuner, “PlayStation 2,” etc., that has no HDMI jacks, connect to the system using the OPTICAL DIGITAL 1 IN or COAXIAL DIGITAL 2 IN jack.
