G. Avoid Accidental Starts To prevent accidental starting when working on equipment always: • Disconnect spark plug wire and keep it away from spark plug. IV. Before Starting Your Engine A. Engine Pre-Ride Checklist To avoid serious injury or death, WARNING always complete both the engine and equipment manufacturer’s pre-ride checklist before using the engine. This engine should NEVER be used if you identify a problem with any of the steps listed below. Be sure the engine is turned off for steps 1 thru 4: 1. ! C. Engine Stop Switch Power Sport Engines are equipped with an Engine Stop Switch. This rocker switch is used to shut off the ignition that supplies the spark plug with power. Pressing the 1 switch to the “OFF” position will turn the engine off when it is running. This switch must be in the “ON” position or the engine will not start. See Figure 13. 2 D. 4. Using an approved red GASOLINE container, add fuel slowly, being careful to avoid spilling. DO NOT overfill fuel tank. Leave space in the tank to allow fuel to expand without overflowing. See "B.
