eTrex Legend C Getting Started Starting Up the GPS Receiver Initialization & the Satellite Page When you turn on the eTrex Legend C, the GPS receiver begins to search for satellites in order to determine (fi x) its location. This process is called “initialization” and can take from 5 to 15 minutes the fi rst time you use your unit. eTrex Legend C Getting Started The Main Page Sequence When you turn on the eTrex Legend C, you can see the Power On Page, followed by the Satellite Page (which displays only at start up), and then the Map Page. The Map Page is the fi rst of the three Main Pages in sequence. To view each Main Page: 1. Press and release the QUIT key repeatedly to cycle through the pages. 2.
