3. GENERAL SETTINGS Before starting to use your Suunto X9, you need to set the correct time and date. You can also customize all the necessary units and settings. These instructions show you how to set the time and date. The adjustments of the other settings is fairly similar. You can find all the settings in the basic menu structure. 4. TIME MODE The Time mode includes normal watch functions such as time, date, alarm and stopwatch. In the Time menu you can select the measuring units for the data displayed in other modes, adjust the general settings such as display contrast and button tones and define the GPS position format to match the maps you normally use. !

5. ALTI/BARO MODE The Alti/Baro mode is used for measuring altitude, barometric pressure and temperature. Suunto X9 calculates the altitude from the current barometric pressure, which is more sensitive and accurate than the altitude measurement with the GPS, and is also available when the GPS is off.
