1 Overview This document contains step-by-step disassembly instructions for the Packard Bell Compasseo. The instructions are illustrated where necessary with images of the part that is being removed or disassembled. Packard Bell reserves the right to make changes to the product without notice. Disassembly Instructions When disassembling the system unit, follow these general rules: Turn off the power using the battery switch. Disconnect the adapter. Remove the SD or MMC card from the device.

2 Opening the Case To open the case, do as follows: 1. Remove the two screws at the bottom of the Compasseo. Fig. 1 Bottom of the Compasseo. 2. Remove the four rubbers from the holes at the back. 3. The Antenna Perform the following steps to remove the antenna: 1. Disconnect the GPS antenna from the Mainboard (see the circle to your right in Fig. 4). 2. 4 2. Lift the antenna holder from the mainboard. Fig. 5 The screw that keeps the antenna holder in place. The GPS Module Follow these steps to remove the GPS module: 1. Disconnect the GPS cable from the Mainboard (see the square in Fig. 6). 2. Remove the two screws of the GPS module (See the circles in Fig. 6). 3. Lift the module from the mainboard. 4. 5 The Mainboard Follow the steps below to remove the mainboard: 1. Unlock the flat cable lock upwards (see the square in Fig. 7). 2. Take the flat cable out of the connector. 3. Lift the mainboard from the casing. Fig. 7 The flat cable socket on the mainboard The LCD Panel Follow the steps below to remove the LCD panel: 1.
